New name with a history of research expertise.
Although CPRC is new, healthy-subject pharmaceutical research has been conducted in Morgantown for more than three decades. A Family Physician from WVU established a clinical and pharmacologic research unit in Morgantown in 1979 and conducted the first trials in 1982. This later became a part of Kendle International Inc., a publicly-traded CRO corporation. Kendle was acquired by INC Research, LLC, in mid-2011. INC Research closed the Morgantown location July 2012, leaving this community without a CRO for the first time since the 1980s. The new organization is located in the same building formerly used by Kendle and INC Research.
With the creation of the facility a team of community leaders that are very familiar with clinical research. Recognized by accomplishments within the University and community these leaders have set a standard for excellence.
